Vicky St Pier Massage Therapist understands that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal data is used and shared online.  

Please read this privacy policy carefully and ensure that you understand it.  Your acceptance of our privacy policy is deemed to occur upon your first use of our site.  If you do not accept and agree with this privacy policy, you must stop using our site immediately.

This site is owned and operated by Vicky St Pier Massage Therapist of Gillingham, Kent ME7.  Vicky St Pier is the Data Protection Officer and can be contacted by email at [email protected] and by telephone on 07956 122574.

2. What does this notice cover?

This privacy policy applies only to your use of this site.  The site may contain links to other websites.  Please note that we have no control over how your data is collected, stored or used by other websites.

The GDPR defines personal data as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.  It defines this person as someone who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or so use identity of that natural person

As a data subject you have the following rights under GDPR, which this policy and our use of personal data have been designed to uphold:- 
  • The right to be informed about our collection and use of personal data 
  •  The right of access to the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to rectification if any personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete
  • The right to be forgotten - i.e the right to ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you.  (We only hold your personal data for a limited time, as explained in section 6 but if you would like us to delete it sooner please contact us)
  • The right to restrict (i.e prevent) the processing of your personal data
  • The right to data portability (obtaining a copy of your personal data to re-use with another service or organisation)
  • The right to object to us using your personal data for particular purposes and 
  • Rights with respect to automated decision making and profiling
  • If you have any cause for complaint about our use of your personal data, please contact us and we will do our best to solve the problem for you.  If we are unable to help, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority, The Information Commissioner's Office

5. What personal data do you collect?

The personal data that we may collect from you would be:

  • Identity data - may include your first name, last name, marital status, title, date of birth and gender
  • Contact data - may include your home address, email address and telephone numbers
  • Health data - the medical and emotional questions are required so that we can provide a holistic treatment for you
  • Sensitive data - we do not collect any sensitive data about you.  Sensitive data refers to data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life or sexual orientation.  We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences
  • Financial data - this data is not collected

6. How do you use my personal data?

Any personal data collected will be stored securely and for no longer than is necessary.  
  • I will only contact you via phone, text, whatsapp, email or Facebook messenger should I need to make a change or cancel an appointment 

7. How long will you keep my personal data?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying legal and necessary insurance requirements.

  • Client records are kept for at least 7 years from the date of last treatment
  • For minors, the client records are kept for 3 years from the date they reach 18 years of age

8. How and where do you store or transfer personal data?

Your data will only be stored in the UK.
  • Consultation forms are kept in a locked filing cabinet at my home address
  • They are not viewed or accessible by anyone other than Vicky St Pier Massage Therapist, unless consent is given by yourself to share with other therapists
  • All contact information stored on mobile phones can only be accessed with a password
  • Data security is very important to us, and to protect your data we have taken suitable measures to safeguard and secure any data we hold about you

9. Do you share my personal data?

Your personal data will not be shared, sold, distributed or leased to any third party unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so

10. How can I access my personal data?

You have the right to ask for a copy of any of the personal data held by us (where such data is held).  Under the GDPR no fee is payable and we will try to respond to such requests within one month

12. Changes to this privacy notice

From time to time Vicky St Pier Massage Therapist may decide or be legally obliged to update this privacy policy.  Any changes will be posted on this site.  Except as required by law, any modifications of this privacy policy will not affect our treatment of data collected prior to the effective date of the policy change.
